Information

Oncology massage is a massage that has been adapted to any and all effects of cancer, and the way it has affected the body.  The massage is also modified based on side effects of treatment, whether from chemotherapy, surgery, or radiation, both short term and long term.

Sessions are adjusted with care, working alongside medical treatment without interfering with it. The focus is on comfort, safety, and meeting you exactly where you are.

Frequently asked questions

How oncology massage can help

Oncology massage is designed to support you at any stage, whether during treatment, recovery, or beyond. Each session is gently adapted to your needs, focusing on comfort, relaxation, and helping you feel more at ease.

Massage may help to ease some of the common side effects of cancer treatment, such as tension, fatigue, stress, anxiety, and difficulty sleeping, while supporting a sense of calm and balance.

Who it’s for

Oncology massage can support people at different stages, including during treatment, recovery, or beyond. Each session is gently adapted with care and sensitivity, focusing on comfort, relaxation, and your individual needs in the comfort of your own home.

Safety and care

As a qualified oncology massage therapist, I take a careful and considered approach to every treatment. Sessions are adapted to suit your needs, with a focus on comfort, consent, and helping you feel safe and supported throughout.

Why is a consultation needed

Before your treatment, I will ask a few questions about your health and any current or past medical treatments. This helps me to adapt your massage safely and appropriately to your individual needs.

If you have been affected by cancer, this may include understanding your treatment history and any changes you may be experiencing. This allows me to work gently and with care, ensuring your comfort and safety at all times.

All information is treated with complete confidentiality, and you are always in control of what you choose to share.

Emotional support

A cancer diagnosis can bring anxiety, fear, and emotional fatigue. Oncology massage provides a quiet space to breathe, compassionate touch, and support for emotional wellbeing. Many clients feel calmer, more grounded, and better able to cope

Do I need a note from my doctor

It is not usually necessary to have a note from your doctor before your massage.

However, I may ask you a few more detailed questions about your health and treatment history. This allows me to adapt your massage safely and appropriately to your individual needs.

If you do have a note or guidance from your doctor, you are very welcome to share it, but your comfort, safety, and wellbeing will always guide each session.

Caregivers

Caregivers are also very welcome. While specialist adaptations may not always be needed, many choose to receive treatment from the same therapist, as it can feel more comfortable to be supported by someone who understands their role and the emotional demands that can come with it.

What makes your massage different from others

What makes my massage different is the focus on you as an individual, not just the treatment itself. I provide mobile massage in your own home, allowing you to fully relax without the stress or pressure of a busy salon. My approach is calm, caring, and tailored, taking the time to listen and adapt each session to your needs.

Calm is closer than you think

If you have any questions or would like to book a treatment, please feel free to get in touch. I’m always happy to help you choose the right massage for your needs and talk you through what to expect.
